There is a lot to discover in East Sweden. With two cities in close proximity to one another, there is a wide range of cultural activities as well as nature acitivites. Why not combine the congress with a countryside experience?

Norrköping is one of Sweden’s ten largest cities with around 140 000 inhabitants, and there is much one associates with Norrköping, but besides football and yellow trams, the Industrial Landscape is probably the most unique. Worth seeing today are museums and centres such as the Arbetets museum, Louis De Geer konsert & kongress, Norrköpings stadsmuseum and Visualiseringscenter C, all located in the old, but incredibly well preserved, textile- and paper-manufacturing quarter. It is long since that the factories fell silent but today the area buzzes instead with the life and activity of local residents, students and tourists.

Linköping, with its 160 000 inhabitants, is Sweden’s fifth largest city and is also called Sweden’s flight capital, as the country’s only airplane manufacturer is located here. The city also has a strong emphasis on IT companies, for example in Linköping Science Park. Linköping is also close to culture and nature. There is the Botanical Garden (Trädgårdsföreningen) and the relaxing promenade along the Stångån/Kinda Canal which are part of the green oases of the city. Reigning over the centre of Linköping is also Domkyrkan, which is one of Sweden’s best preserved medieval cathedrals.

There is much to discover in the countryside of East Sweden. The magic of the Kolmården forests, dense spruces, extensive views over Bråviken, combined with the undulating rape fields of the Östgöta plains. The archipelago’s sparkling water and unspoiled islands. For great Sunday walks, more advanced hiking tours, kayak paddling or climbing. We are incredibly proud of our countryside. Naturally, with the two cities close to each other, a wide variety of cultural is created. Norrköping Symphony Orchestra, Östgöta Theatre, Jazz and Film Festivals complemented by clubs, concerts and a significant selection of restaurants, often with Östgöta food in focus. Shopping, open markets and charming boutiques are also to be found in both Linköping and Norrköping.
